According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Bears linebacker made an appearance on Sunday night with sports anchor Lou Canellis on WFLD-Ch. 32. When he was told about the heat that head coach Lovie Smith has been getting from the fans and media. Urlacher has a very honest response.
“Two of the people I don’t care about: fans or media,” Urlacher said. “They can say what they want to about our head coach, about our players. … It does bother me. They don’t know what they’re talking about, obviously.
“I know there are a lot of experts in the media, a bunch of smart guys out there who know exactly what they’re talking about all the time. They don’t know what they’re talking about. Lovie is the head coach of this football team and hopefully will be for a long time.”
Nice, you have to love a player that doesn’t care about the fans. Urlacher can claim that’s now what he meant, but he did say he doesn’t care about the fans and media.
Urlacher clearly doesn’t realize that the fans pay his salary. The money spent on jerseys, season tickets, etc pay for him to live large.
