After a lot of speculation that former Chicago Bears’ linebacker, Brian Urlacher, was ready to sign with the team’s division rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, it appears that the Vikings will pass on the 35 year old linebacker, for now.
According to NFL.com, the Vikings instead will chose to go with “in-house” players at inside linebacker. The team will move outside linebacker Erin Henderson to the inside to fill the void at that position.
This is the sad reality that veteran players are facing with this new CBA. Teams are choosing to go younger and cheaper instead of old and expensive. Just add Urlacher to the list of Dwight Freeny, Quentin Jammer, Charles Woodson, and the list goes on and on and on.
