Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier told NFL AM that they don’t plan on going after former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher right now.
“Brian has been a great player in our league for a long, long time,” Frazier said, via NFL.com. “He was a thorn in our side for many years. At this point we want to look at the guys on our roster, give them a chance to compete for the middle linebacker position then we’ll see where it takes us.”
The Vikings are taking the right approach. It’s better to see if a young guy can step up and take over for Jasper Brinkley before they go after Urlacher who might have one year left in him.
